Game 30: New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles

Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees will try for their second win in a row tonight against the Baltimore Orioles.

Last night, a three-run home run from Rodriguez powered the Yankees to their first win in six games. The third baseman hit the first pitch he saw - a 98 mile per hour fastball from Jeremy Guthrie - over the leftfield fence. It was his first at-bat of the season.

"It was awesome," Rodriguez said to reporters after the game. "It was just nice to get to the ballpark, give the guys a hug and do what I do best."

The home run was his 554th of his career and 48th against the Orioles.

The Yankees also received a dominant pitching performance from CC Sabathia. The lefty threw a complete game, four-hit shutout for his second win of the year.

The Yankees will turn to Phil Hughes (1-1, 2.70 ERA), who makes his third start of the season. The righthander is 1-1 with a 5.06 ERA in three starts against the Orioles. He lost in his only appearance at Camden Yards on April 18, 2008.

Adam Eaton (1-3, 7.18 ERA) will counter for the Orioles. The pitcher has allowed at least four earned runs in his last five outings while pitching past the fifth inning twice.

Eaton is 1-1 with a 4.42 ERA in two starts against the Yankees, but hasn't faced the team since July 25, 2006 with the Texas Rangers.

Here's the starting lineup for the Yankees:
Jeter SS
Damon LF
Teixeira 1B
Rodriguez 3B
Matsui DH
Swisher RF
Cano 2B
Cabrera CF
Cervelli C

And on the mound, the young right-hander, Phil Hughes.

Game time is 7:05, and you can catch the game on YES. Let's see if the Yankees can go on a winning streak after snapping their five game losing streak last night. They should be able to tee off on Eaton, but the Yankees have struggled against soft-tossing pitchers lately.
